What do we do?
Tell us your concerns and task us to act on them
Neighbourhood Tasking meetings provide a great opportunity to raise any concerns you have about crime and anti-social behaviour in your area. Meetings are held in every constituency and provide residents with the opportunity to ‘task’ police and council staff to deal with issues of concern. To find out where your next local meeting is being held, simply log onto www.west-midlands.police.uk and enter your postcode, or contact your local Community Safety Co-ordinator for your area.
Since Neighbourhood Tasking began, lots of work has been done across the city to reduce crime and disorder. These range from tackling graffiti through monthly clean up programmes, issuing Anti-Social Behaviour Orders (ASBOs) to residents who cause nuisance, improving security to residents’ properties and increasing police patrols and CCTV coverage in known crime hotspot areas
Community Payback
Over 434,000 hours of Community Payback are performed by offenders throughout the West Midlands every year. Community Payback is a punishment handed out by the courts. It’s demanding work, carried out by offenders in the community. They have to wear orange high-visibility jackets, marked Community Payback, so you can see that they’re paying back your community for their crimes. Led by the Probation Service, it is a national scheme delivered locally.
Now you can have a say on what projects would make your community a better place to live. There are a number of ways to nominate a project:
